For enthusiastic young people wanting to do conservation work on Game and Nature Reserves in Southern Africa, African Conservation Experience arranges voluntary placements for 1 – 3 months. Volunteers can gain valuable practical experience by working side by side with conservationists and rangers on an Educational Work Experience.

Studying Abroad: The Scholar Ship

In September 2007, I was fortunate enough to embark on the journey of a lifetime – I went on board The Scholar Ship, a study abroad program on board a passenger ocean liner, to take a semester abroad and to travel across the globe. Starting my journey in Greece, I joined 205 students from over 50 different countries to set sail for Portugal, our first port. I spent a total of 16 weeks at sea, stopping in 8 ports, each for seven days at a time.
