The Arts Institute at Bournemouth has developed into one of the leading specialist education institutions in Europe focusing exclusively upon contemporary arts, design and media. The Institute offers a range of further and higher education courses, including National & Foundation Diplomas, Foundation & BA Degrees and Postgraduate courses. The subject areas include photography, costume, fashion, fine art, graphic design, animation and film production. In 2005, the Institute was awarded Screen Academy Status by Skillset and the British Film Council in recognition of its excellence in Film Production Studies. the Screen Academy network is endorsed by the UK film industry as providing the best education and skills development for the future workforce at a further, higher and postgraduate level.

The Institute has a high record of achievement with local, national and international awards across the range of courses provided.
