Tailor Made: Technical Fashion Courses at London College of Fashion

Are you interested in learning how to turn wonderful two-dimensional designs into breathtaking catwalk collections and fashion must-haves?London College of Fashion offers a group of specialist courses that cover bespoke tailoring right through to the use of state of the art technology to create stunning garments for mass production. These courses will enhance your career prospects by providing excellent technical fashion training at a variety of levels. They have been developed in close collaboration with experts from the fashion industry, who are also involved in course delivery.
Our Diploma in Garment Technology will help you develop a wide range of skills required for employment within specialist fashion production areas such as Garment Technology and Creative Sample Garment Development. Our Diploma in Pattern Technology focuses on design, product development and garment assembly for the ready-to-wear market and covers technical issues uses manual and electronic pattern production methods.
Our dynamic two-year Foundation Degree Fashion Design Technology: Designer Pattern Cutter explores the creative design process for womenswear from research and early design stages right through to production. It encompasses the teaching of specialist techniques within pattern and garment development as well as encourages you to be very creative.
London College of Fashion offers opportunities to study the art of tailoring too, benefiting from a long-standing relationship with London’s Savile Row, we are able to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to produce classically tailored garments.
Our Diploma in Handcraft Tailoring focuses on menswear and uses traditional methods of construction. The Diploma in Production Tailoring course is an introduction to the area of high quality, ready to wear tailoring, and students may select either men’s or women’s tailoring as a pathway. Besides the cutting and making of garments, students on either of these courses develop knowledge of the contemporary market, fashion design, illustration, textiles and cultural studies. We are also running a BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring course for those who want to take their studies within this sector to the next level.
