Middlesex University Announces £30,000 Scholarships

Posted on Wed, 09 November 2005 12:25:53

The costs of a university education – and the ways you can fund your time at university – change in September 2006.

Middx_Hendon.jpgGoing to university involves two main types of expense – tuition fees and living expenses.

It is very unlikely that you will need to pay any of the tuition fee before or during your course. Direct help with living expenses will be offered by the Government via maintenance grants if you come from a lower-income family, and universities will also offer bursaries (a grant of at least £300 a year).

Scholarships

In addition to these forms of assistance, universities offer scholarships to help with living expenses and perhaps to avoid having to repay your tuition fee once you earn more than £15,000 a year.

Middlesex is leading the way with two new scholarships for 2006 – Middlesex First and Middlesex Future Gold Scholarships.

Five Middlesex First Scholarships are on offer. All you have to do is apply to Middlesex, put Middlesex as one of your six UCAS choices, make Middlesex your final FIRST choice, enrol, and successfully complete your first semester assessment.

If your name is one of five to come from the Middlesex First ballot in January 2007 you receive a £30,000 scholarship over three years (provided you complete your academic assessments successfully each year).

Olympic potential?

And if you think you are good enough to compete in the 2012 London Olympics, and can win the support of your sport’s national body, you can apply for the chance of one of two further £30,000 Middlesex Future Gold Scholarships.

But whether you win or not, you’ll still be studying at an exciting, modern and vibrant university, where the increased fees have been invested in ensuring the highest quality teaching and student facilities.
