What We Do
CIMA is the organisation that trains and supports Management Accountants, primarily through the professional qualification we offer. If you’re thinking about going on to university, don’t worry if you’re not studying Accountancy or Finance. Many students come to CIMA from other backgrounds including Engineering, Social Sciences and Languages.
What is Management Accountancy?
Management Accountancy is concerned with providing financial information and advice essential to managing a business.
Management accountants work as part of a management team, dealing with the financial side of the business and developing strategies crucial to the running of a business. They look not only at last year’s accounts, but today’s facts and tomorrow’s probabilities.
Management Accountancy is a rewarding and beneficial career that can take you anywhere. It is a career that is recognised and practised in companies such as The Coca-Cola Company, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Greenpeace and MTV.
Your Future . . .
If your ambitions point to a career in management, just think how the CIMA qualification could strengthen your prospects. By studying CIMA you are making a positive statement that you are serious about a career in management, placing you on track for a rewarding career at the sharp end of the business.

With the broad range of management experience gained through the qualification, many CIMA graduates rise to Finance or Managing Director positions.
