Profile - Parm Sandhu... Specialist DI
I’m originally from Birmingham, and I moved to London about a year before I joined. My family are from an Asian background, and their perception of the police wasn’t that positive. Only after I’d completed my training and been posted out on to a borough did I tell my parents about my career-change. At the time it was a bit tricky, but now my mum’s absolutely over the moon about it. She’s got a photo from my passing-out parade on the wall, so all her visitors get to see it!
