Are you leaving university soon? Are you worried about how you're going to cope with the gruelling process of filling out job application forms and interviews? If so you're not alone, according to new research a lot of people stumble through the interview phase. A surprising four out of five confess to have cried, fallen over, spilt coffee on themselves or had a coughing fit during an interview - leaving a less than desirable first impression! Nearly two in five people also admit to lying in interviews and 18% have yawned their way through the process. A bold one in twenty have actually walked out mid-interview because they were less than impressed with the experience.

I choose to do my degree in Information Systems at the University of Greenwich because the course description seemed to suit me perfectly. I wanted to do an IT degree, but I didn’t want to spend hour upon hour writing computer code and programmes. It turned out to be exactly what I was looking for, and helped me develop skills beyond the technical IT world. Various coursework’s and team building exercises allowed us all to build on important softer skills too; time management, working in and leading a team, organisational skills and communication skills to name just a few.
Careers in the Creative Industry… Be Inspired!
While it is tough to break into a creative career, the benefits can be extremely rewarding. Given that you have chosen carefully, your job can provide plenty of satisfaction and fulfilment. The offset to this are the potentially long hours and low pay, at least in the beginning for the latter.
