BSC (HONS) In Audiology at Leeds

WHAT IS AUDIOLOGY AND WHO ARE AUDIOLOGISTS?

Audiology is the study of hearing, balance and communication disorders and is rapidly growing health profession.

Audiologists work in multidisciplinary teams and provide assessment, management & rehabilitation of hearing and balance disorders in both adults & children.

The School of Healthcare is one of the largest in the UK and has considerable experience in training healthcare professionals

This four year programme combines theoretical and practical learning. Clinical practice is a fundamental and critical part of the programme which are undertaken across a number of different hospital sites and department. Close partnerships exist with major hospitals across the region which provide excellent clinical placements for students.

The third year of the programme is entirely based in clinical practice during which time a salary is paid.

The School of Healthcare has newly installed Audiology facilities on site to enable students to do practical work whilst at the University to back up their clinical practice.

The award leads to a professional qualification as a graduate Audiologist and employment in the NHS or elsewhere.

There are NHS Bursaries available to eligible candidates and no tuition fees to pay

There are excellent employment opportunities in Audiology, both in the UK and overseas.

Entry Criteria
5 subjects at GCSE Grade C (or above) to include English Mathematics and a Science Subject

AND
2 subjects at A level to include one science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Psychology) Grade C or above,  AVCE Science (2 Grade C’s or above)or BTEC National Diploma in Science, Access to Higher Education (Science) or other equivalent qualifications.
