ACCA: Finance - A career very much in Demand

Finance is a career that is very much in demand. More and more people are choosing to train in accountancy than ever before and the opportunities for career progression are vast.<o:p></o:p>

The reason for this is because of the diversity of work for qualified accountants. They can choose to work in the four main sectors: corporate, public practice, public sector and financial services, and the types of jobs available are diverse. Typical accounting roles can include forensic accountants, management accountants, financial analyst, audit managers and financial controller. So the ability to progress is down to the individual. The opportunities are there, how far you go depends on your own hard work and commitment.  

Having the right type of accounting qualification can also help with opening doors for career advancement. ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the largest global professional accountancy body. Their close links with the industry means that ACCA is recognised and respected. The ACCA Qualification has been specifically designed to match up against the International Financial Accounting Standards making it portable globally. The syllabus allows students to gain an understanding of all the fundamentals of accounting before choosing an area to specialise in. The advantage of this is that students are equipped to work in all the sectors.

Having a well known and respected professional qualification is a good basis to building a strong career in finance and business. You will be equipped with all the skills and knowledge you need to do your job and how far you progress is only limited by how far you want to go!
