Arcadia: Careers that set the Trend
Submitted by daniel on Tue, 12/04/2005 - 00:00
The Arcadia Group is one of the UK’s largest fashion retail companies with over 25,000 employees, 2,000 outlets throughout the UK and a growing number of international stores. The group includes eight celebrated high street brands – Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Miss Selfridge, Outfit, Topshop, Topman and Wallis.
Why Choose Arcadia?
Arcadia is the name behind your favourite high street brands; Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Miss Selfridge, Outfit, Topshop, Topman and Wallis. These leading fashion brands, the size of Arcadia and the culture of the company combine to offer exciting and challenging career opportunities for school leavers with A-Level or equivalent qualifications.
As University is not suitable for everyone, Arcadia’s Management Trainee Programme (MTP) offers an attractive alternative for those who wish to begin a long term career in the retail industry, learning and training whilst in full time employment.
Arcadia's Retail Management Trainee Programme
A Retail Management career is stimulating and demanding, requiring a multitude of skills. Retail Managers have a direct and immediate impact on business success. rcadia’s Retail Management Trainee Programme (MTP) is tailor made for post-A-level/equivalent students who are looking for fun and lively positions in fashion. Arcadia’s MTP begins with a fantastic national induction event where all new trainees are introduced to Arcadia’s dynamic business. Following this event trainees are based in a retail store to learn and develop through a variety of activities, including:
• A structured induction – learning about retail, the brand and store operations
• Workshops focusing on the core skills needed for a successful management career, including team motivation and planning for future success
• Learning about specific areas of responsibility, including in store promotions and managing a store team
• Managing a variety of stores during placement opportunities.
Arcadia’s MTP aims to progress Trainees into management positions within twelve months. On completion of the twelve-month programme, Trainees are invited to a National Graduation event to celebrate their successes.
